Assist Grottoes on Pallet Fire JULY 29 - During our annual lawn party Company 80 was dispatched to TB Pallets in Grottoes for mulpitle pallets burning and also mulch piles on fire. Company 80 responded in Engine 807. Upon arriving on scene crews assisted in deploying dump tanks for water supply. The incident was then upgraded bring Engine 802 and Brush 804 to the scene. Vehicle Fire on Bloomer Springs Road JULY 14 - Company 80 and Company 30 was dispatched for a vehicle fire threatning a structure. Extrication Demonstration at Spotswood High School MAY 14 - On Friday May 14 crews from McGayehsville, Elkton, and Rockingham County went to Spotswood High School to perform a vehicle extrication demonstration for the students and teachers of the school. This demonstration was done to simulate what firefighter crews would have to do if you were entrapped in a vehicle accident. Members Attend Regional School Training To Futher Their Knowledge of Firefighting Techniques APRIL 21 - The past weekend members attended the regional school at MTC put on by the Virginia Department of Fire Programs and Rockingham County Fire and Rescue. Members took time out of their own weekend to futher their knowledge in the fire service. The classes were from 8am until 5pm. McGaheysville Elementary Pre-K class donates pet oxygen masks to MVFC FEBRUARY 09 - Mrs. Warner's Pre-K class of McGaheysville Elementary held a fundrasier at the end of last year to raise money to purchase pet oxygen masks. Their efforts raised enough money to purchase several sets of pet oxygen masks which were donated to several of the local fire companies. The masks donated to MVFC were received by Chief Breeden.... Traffic Crash - Spotswood Trail JANUARY 24 - On January 23rd at approximately 18:30 hours crews were dispatched to the scene of a traffic crash with ejection and possible entrapment. Upon arrival of E801 crews found 1 patient ejected from and 1 patient pinned under the vehicle. A third patient was transported to RMH for evaluation. LZ Requested To Assist Elkton Emergency Squad JANUARY 18 - On January 18 at 18:30 hours crews were dispatched to assist with the landing zone for a trauma patient from the Massanutten ski resort. Crews responded and established the landing zone. Radio transmissions between the LZ coordinator and Peagasus brought the helicopter safely to the LZ.
