What seemed as though in the early morning hours of Nov 7th, 2008 as another routine fire alarm call turned out to be a tragic day for MVFC. While responding to what turned out to be a working structure fire -Firefighter Roy Dale Smith III lost control of his vehicle that early morning and lost his life. Free Flu Shots!

On Saturday October 7 between 10 A.M. and 1 P.M. the Central Shenandoah Health District and Rockingham County Fire/Rescue are providing free flu shots to people ages 3 and up at East Rockingham High School, 250 Eagle Rock Rd. Virginia's 4 P.M. Burn Law is in Effect.

The Commonwealth's 4 p.m. Burning Law goes into effect Feb. 15, 2017 – the start of spring fire season in Virginia.

This law prohibits burning before 4 p.m. each day (Feb. 15 – April 30) if the fire is in, or within 300 feet of, woodland, brushland or fields containing dry grass or other flammable materials.

A violation of this law is a Class 3 misdemeanor punishable by up to a $500 fine. In addition ... (Full Story)

4th Alarm Structure Fire

Companies 30 and 80 was dispatched for a structure fire involving an apartment building. Units arrived on the scene to find heavy fire conditions on sides Charlie and Delta. Truck 80 and Engine 807 took the Charlie / Delta side and set up a master stream operation.
