MVFC responds to morning structure fire

Earlier this morning McGaheysville Firefighters responded to a residential structure fire. Engine 418 from Station 41 arrived on the scene 1st to find moderate smoke conditions from the roof area along with fire through the roof. Firefighters were on the scene for several hours. MVFC responds to evening structure fire

McGaheysville Firefighters were dispatched to a residential structure fire Saturday evening. Units on location found a single-story house with smoke pushing from the roof line. No one was home at the time, so firefighters forced entry to gain access to the fire. The fire was quickly extinguished, and one dog was happily removed from the house when firefighters made entry.

Public Safety Telecommunicators Week April 9-15th

MVFC would like to say a big Thank You to our local telecommunicators at the Harrisonburg Rockingham Emergency Communications Center (HRECC) during Telecommunicators week. You are the calming voice when someone calls 911.
We would like to especially recognize Mark Monger who is a longtime volunteer at MVFC and employee of HRECC.

Women's History Month recognition

We continue Women's History Month recognition with Sierra Murray.
Sierra became a member of MVC in October of 2021, she was new to the fire service but that did not slow her down. Determined and eager to learn you could find Sierra at the fire station training with fellow members and getting to know them. Late night garage fire

Terry is a honorary member of MVFC. Over the years she has worked Bingo for many years manning the registers and the office.
